Awesome video of the Beastie Boys performing in London is pretty classic. This Raising Hell tour definitely brought a very 1986 NYC-style to the cities they toured in. And you gotta love the gnarly stagedive MCA takes around 2:32.

Martin Scorcese’s documentary “Italianamerican” - Part II
Besides finding this documentary so fascinating (I’m a sucker for old NYC footage), I feel like I have so many links to this documentary…..1) I’m half Italian-American so Scorcese’s mother’s mannerisms and vocal inflections are comforting and remind me of my grandmother, 2) The tradition of MAKING the sauce and the meatballs continues to be a strong presence in my life, 3) A family member grew up with Martin Scorcese on Elizabeth St., 4) Alot of their discussion revolves around my neighborhood and the changes it has gone through.
So glad I stumbled upon this little gem of a film.
Ever wonder about that large windowless brick wall on Avenue A between 5th and 6th street???? I have…for many, many, many years. Turns out it’s an old Hollywood theatre which is now going to be torn down…..

Made it through the throngs of tourists (an elbow here and there doesn’t hurt anyone….really) and police barricades. It was really a spur of the moment activity, but seemed so appropriate and felt RIGHT to be there….. I felt like there should’ve been a music soundtrack in the background of last night (I always want my life to be accompanied by a musical soundtrack), and not holiday music…
Stevie Wonder’s “Hey Love” would’ve been perfect…..
This girl had the balls to bring some stinky ass egg roll shit on the F train, stunk up the WHOLE car up & chewed with her mouth open. And homegirl is NOT going to work, but coming from it. Me & about 12 other people were highly irritated…especially me since I was coming from the gym and was FAMISHED…which just made the whole thing even more annoying.
SUBWAY ETIQUETTE PEOPLE.
