You use this amazing site called whatwasthere.com. Just type in the area you are interested in knowing a little more about (i.e I typed in Lower East Side because that’s what I’m obsessed with) and watch your screen populate with archive pictures that you can click, and compare to what is currently there via Google Maps. Pretty cool, huh?
