This was the insanity that was PS1 on Saturday. Word on the street was that it was at full capacity which would explain the line that was wrapped around the block. Luckily, I have some awesome friends and was able to skip the line.
If you squint hard enough at my picture, you can see SBTRKT and Sampha playing, my primary purpose of going (that doesn’t mean I didn’t love hanging with my friends). If you recall, my obsession with SBTRKT started earlier this year and is still going strong. If you haven’t picked up his EP, I promise, it WILL be your summer soundtrack. Promise.

The warm weather the past two days has been a marvelous reminder that warm weather will come again. In the meantime, I’ll use this picture as my mental mantra to make it through the rest of March.
I was supposed to go see the NY Philharmonic play in Central Park tonight (which is still a go…but you’ll just have to tolerate sitting in soggy grass)….so instead of writing up about my wonderful evening that I could’ve had tonight…..I’ll tell you about another great evening I had last week with some friends.

My dear friend MLE had a difficult week, so to blow off some steam I accompanied her and our friend J. to have some happy hour cocktails at this quaint speakeasy-like bar off the Bowery. Unfortunately, you can easily pass it on the street because there is no name listed on the outside of the bar….so I actually have no idea what it was called. After indulging in some freshly squeezed rasberry and vodka cocktails, we headed over to Vanessa’s Dumpling House to order alot of food for cheap cheap cheap! After waiting on a long line and elbowing some aggressive customers, our large amount of dumplings were placed in a bag, and we headed over to Sara Delano Roosevelt Park . We found a bench and ravishly attacked our dumplings (which were DELICIOUS!!!), all while being accompanied by some weird synthesized traditional Chinese music that was being played by the older Asian couple doing Tai Chi in the middle of the park.
Just another story that makes me adore living in NYC……
