Actually, Yes, I Do Mind Taking Off My Shoes →
I laughed my way through reading this article. A couple of months ago, I attended a “Citizenship party” for some French expat in a lovely work-live loft in Chelsea. The loft was decorated with American and French flags, streamers thrown about, a bartendar, candy, and even a late-night performance by a burlesque dancer (Ah! L’amour des Français!), BUT I had to take my very...

Lower East Side Tenement Museum
C. and I utilized our day off yesterday and visited the LES Tenement Museum. It was something we added to our ‘To Do’ list (something we started compiling when we started dating), and finally had an open day to do it.
If you have $20 and a free day, definitely go to the Tenement Museum. We took the Moore family tour (the Irish immigrant experience) and happened to have some...

Handbook 2010
Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games
7. Read more books than you...

I'm over you Perez
I’ve been an avid reader of Perez Hilton since he first popped up on the blogosphere. My daily morning routine would consist of drinking a cup of green tea while catching up on my celebrity gossip via Perez Hilton. The quick speed of Perez releasing news made me the coolest kid in the office because I always had the gossip first.
NOT ANYMORE MORE.
He posted this story today on January...

Do you know about The Last Poets?
I was just sent the following choices to decide which two deserve to be acknowledged in some sort of preservation society. My boss and I just had a great conversation discussing our choices (one of the aspects I enjoy about my job….I can actually discuss all the useless knowledge of music I have collected in my head for the last 20 or so years)…..Which two albums would you choose as...

Twitter Rules: According to @a_solo
- twittering should not happen too often, NOT every 10 minutes
- make your audience laugh
- tweet some interesting content
- your audience doesn’t care what you’re thinking, unless you’re a girl (this coming from a guy)
- guys will read your tweets if you’re a hot girl
- if you’re a guy, your tweets better be fuckin’ good
- your audience should be able to...

NYC Subway Story
I have a subway friend. We’re not really friends, but I call us friends (ok…we’re ‘pretend’ friends for 20 minutes on the train!) because we very often see each other in the morning, waiting in the same spot for the train. She gets on at my spot and gets off at Rockefeller Center. This has been going on since I moved back to NY. She’s dresses real cool, very LES...

A Few Thoughts About Jersey Shore
by Cajun Boy
from Episode 4
The only thing better than finding a twenty dollar bill in the pocket of a pair of old jeans is finding a recording of a new episode of Jersey Shore on your DVR when you had no idea one existed. This is exactly what happened to me the other day when I discovered that MTV had aired a new episode of the show on New Year’s Eve. So yeah, apologies for being late on...

We can agree for the most part →
My friend Adrian and I are always engaging in friendly, yet salty online discourse regarding our opinions of music. He’s been on my back the last week #1) to write my list of the Top 10 Albums of 2009 and #2) to read his list of Top 10 Albums of 2009. I’ve finally gotten around to reading it, and I was surprisingly please with what he chose. Thank god I’ve had some influence over...

Come on Pitchfork??? Really?? →
I totally agree with this list, except it is severly lacking any mention of hip-hop. Or maybe hip-hop music is severly lacking anything to mention. I don’t know.

WORST MORNING EVER
For some reason, today did not start out right for me. Nothing but challenge after mistake after challenge/mistake. Rather than waking up at 6:45am to go for my morning run, I woke up at 8:47am. The walk to the subway was so windy and frigid, I developed a ice headache. When I got to work, I starting labeling the food I keep in the office fridge because I noticed someone has been stealing my food...

Cheap Flights 101 →
I’m still ont eh search for a reasonably priced flight to Jackson Hole in February and I haven’t found one yet!!! Argh!!!! I am a bargain shopper, so I’m determined to get a good price. In my research, I came across this article ‘A Guide to Inexpensive Airfare’. It didn’t necessarily tell me anything I didn’t know already, but reminded me of a couple of...

My friend Nicole is training for the NYC half-marathon in March. I definitely admire that she is doing this (and it is something I have tossed around in my head a couple of times)…but most of all is that she is doing it for a great charity…Free Arts!!!
Even though money is tight right now (the after-holiday’s financial slump), I contributed what I could right now. Hopefully,...
