Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009!
I have never enjoyed NYE….regardless of hyped up plans, perfect soundtrack (1999 was supposed to be great just because Prince wrote that song) or perfect outfit. This particular New Year’s, I am filled with so much contradicting emotions that I’m on the edge of an all out hyperventilating crying fit while hysterical laughing. Some might call that crazy, I call it the perfect...
Daily Plan Dilemma
Since I started stirring awake this morning at 9:30am, I have had a very difficult time deciding what I’m going to do with an entire day to myself. I basically have two choices: Manhattan or Upstate.
Manhattan PROS
- eat yummy Puerto Rican food for lunch @ my Grandma’s
- walk around Manhattan
- maybe go to a museum
- shop in Soho boutiques
Manhattan CONS
- have to drive in and...

Unfortunately, the NYTimes is a bit late on writing about the tendency for musicians to license their music to commercials, television shows, etc. in an effort to break their music to a larger audience. It kind of makes me think that NYTimes isn’t as hip as I originally thought….they ain’t no trendsetters!!!
morning headache
I can’t tell if the headache I woke up with this morning is from:
a) the head cold I have had for two days
b) the immense amount of crying I did yesterday
c) the 4 beers I drank last night
d) the monsterous zit on my nose that has made my left eye swollen
I love multiple choice questions.
ways to cheer me up!
Oy vey! It has been a very difficult couple of days riding on the emotional rollercoaster. I have never enjoyed rollercoasters (theme park or metaphorical), and I desperately want off this one. So in an attempt to try and make my way back to being in a normal, sane state of mind, I’ve decided to compose a list of things that make me happy:
- ice cream sundaes with whipped cream and hot...
A Bittersweet Christmas
This was my family’s first Christmas without the commodious presence of my mother. Tears were shed yesterday morning while tradition remained intact. Presents were opened in the marble foyer admist the sounds of Johnny Mathis, as usual, which left us swimming through the pile of wrapping paper and empty boxes. Christmas was my mother’s absolute favorite holiday, and passed on the sheer...

If the full moon tonight looks unusually large, it is not your imagination it is the biggest and brightest full moon to be seen for 15 years. Each month the Moon makes a full orbit around the Earth in a slightly oval-shaped path, and tonight it will swing by the Earth at its closest distance, or perigee. It will pass by 356,613km (221,595 miles) away, which is about 28,000km closer than average.

Blogging AWOL
To be a blogger or not to be blogger. That is the question. Life can really get in the way when one is trying to maintain an online presence and contribute interesting blog material that has 11 dedicated readers (Thank you 11 of my favorite people in the world!). With all the technological devices within my constant reach, there is no excuse for my blogging negligence. However, painting my...

as jackie briefly mentioned, the latest winner of project runway, christian siriano, has just been contracted to design a line of handbags and shoes with payless. it didn’t take long, a fierce debate has already formed about whether or not this move would be considered ‘selling out’ so soon in his fashion design career, but he has made no bones about his desire to make money. in his...
